The GBR002 on a scenic road

Tiny U.K. based Theon Design is redefining automotive craftsmanship with its latest creation, the GBR002.

This masterpiece is the third car produced this year, showcasing a reimagined take on the iconic 964-series Porsche 911.

The GBR002 stands out with its carbon-fiber body and a high-performance 4.0-liter flat-six engine, boasting over 400 hp. This bespoke sports car exemplifies Theon’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

The GBR002’s Global Appeal

The GBR002, soon to be delivered to a U.K. client, represents Theon Design’s expanding international presence.

Three similar specification cars are currently under construction for American enthusiasts.

This follows the success of Theon’s previous model, the BEL001.

However, the GBR002 takes a different approach, refining the legendary air-cooled 911 engine, enhancing its allure.

Theon Design: A Blend of Art and Engineering

A behind the scenes look at the workshop

Founded in 2016 by industry veterans Adam Hawley and Lucinda Argy, Theon Design specializes in handcrafted 964s.

Each car, requiring about 6,000 man-hours to build, is unique. Starting from $480,000, these cars are a luxury investment.

The GBR002, for instance, began as a 1992 964-series Porsche 911 Carrera 2, undergoing extensive modifications.

The car’s transformation includes a strengthened chassis and custom carbon-fiber panels, with the option for a full steel body.

The GBR002, painted in Oak Green metallic, sports 17-inch Fiske forged aluminum wheels.

Its interior is equally impressive, featuring Recaro CS seats, Theon touring rear seats, and Alcantara and leather trim.

The car also boasts a Nardi steering wheel and redesigned center console with modern amenities.

Meticulous attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the GBR002, from the billet aluminum touchpoints to its military-spec wiring harness and upgraded brakes.

Performance That Thrills

Under the hood, the GBR002’s 4.0-liter flat-six engine is a marvel, delivering 406 hp at 7,200 rpm.

This engine, coupled with a Hewland six-speed transmission and Wavetrac Torsen limited-slip differential, provides exhilarating performance.

Weighing just 2,577 pounds, the GBR002 offers an unmatched weight-to-power ratio, outperforming even the latest Porsche 911 GT3 variants.

Driving Dynamics: A New Benchmark

Despite its retro aesthetic, the GBR002 offers modern, dynamic driving experiences.

Its compact dimensions and powerful engine provide an exhilarating ride on real-world roads.

The car’s advanced suspension and electric power steering system contribute to its responsive and agile handling.

A Daily-Driveable Work of Art

This car not only matches the performance of modern sports cars but does so with a unique blend of classic design and contemporary engineering.

In summary, Theon Design’s GBR002 is not just another reimagined Porsche 911.

It’s a testament to the art of car making, blending classic aesthetics with modern technology to create a truly unique and exhilarating driving experience.
